iBookstore has finally hit iTunes

iBookstore snuggles up to iTunes

If you’ve all but forgotten the weight of a real book, the smell of its pages and the agony of paper cuts then chances are that you’ve fully jumped aboard the ebook bandwagon. Sony Ericsson reveals the txt pro and Mix Walkman

Sony Ericsson has shown today that Facebook can be useful for things other than Farmville and the stalking of long-forgotten classmates. Using the social network site as an announcement platform, the company revealed to fans the existence of two new devices, the txt pro and the Mix Walkman. The txt pro offers up a 3in touchscreen, 3.2MP camera and a slide out QWERTY keyboard, making it the perfect weapon of choice for those snappy tweets and hilarious (to you) status updates. Motorola announces a Wilder phone

Teenagers are social creatures who tend to do crazy things. We're thinking ad hoc parties, extreme sports and farming spots. Motorola thinks they need a phone to help them through those hormonal years, hence the Wilder, a no-nonsense socially-orientated phone that serves up the hard-hitting trio of Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, encased in a splash and dust-resistant body.

Logitech unveils multi-touch lapdesk

It’s a well-known fact that heat produced by a laptop is not a man’s best friend. Logitech’s N600 lapdesk not only protects your manhood from harmful temperatures but also offers the extra bonus of a slide-out 5in multi-touch trackpad. The lapdesk has a heat-shielding design and with summer around the corner both genders can appreciate the cool comfort of living room browsing.

Google Apps to drop support for older browsers

Google has announced that Google Apps will only be supported by the newest browsers, with support for the third-oldest version being pulled each time a new version is released. With the advent and continuing growth of HTML 5 older browsers such as Internet Explorer 7 (shudder) Firefox 3.5 and Safari 3 will have their life support unplugged from August 1st. If you’re a Stuff.tv reader then we will take the liberty of assuming that you are the owner of a whole host of shiny gadgets and that you have kept your browser up to speed as per the unwritten laws of Geekdom. Still on IE7? Shame on you...

Toshiba undercuts the iPad 2 with the Thrive tablet

Tosh’s energetically-named new tablet, the Thrive, has been price-tagged with clinical precision, weighing in at US$429 in contrast to the iPad 2’s US$499 price point. What we do know is that the Android 3.1 tablet will enter the ring with a Tegra 2 dual-core processor, an IPS display, a HDMI port and Toshiba’s Revolution+ technology which is also found on the company's televisions. A variety of interchangeable back cover designs will also be available, which is a welcome nostalgic throwback to the 3210 revolution of the '90s, where the only use for tablets was to alleviate pain.

Goodbye MobileMe. As of today, MobileMe isn’t taking any new customers (existing users can get a pro-rated refund or have their service extended until the end of June next year). Contacts, Calendar and Mail will get an iCloud refresh to synch and work seamlessly across all iOS devices, plus Mac or PC computers. Read more...
