Kikuchi joins from OgilvyOne Tokyo where he was general manager.

A spokesperson for OgilvyOne said Kikuchi will not be directly replaced following his departure. Kuniyoshi Mabuchi, managing director of OgilvyOne Tokyo and other senior leaders in OgilvyOne will take over his responsibilities.

At Digitas, Kikuchi will report to Vincent Digonnet, president Asia-Pacific and is tasked with guiding Digitas' roster of Japanese brands to greater success as global brands, which includes Delta Air Lines. He will also oversee the relationship with both the domestic and international divisions of global clients, leading the team to deliver international work through Digitas’s worldwide network.

"[Kikuchi's] appointment recognises the fact that Japanese brands will not develop into genuine global brands without the combination of a global network and a global leadership based in Japan," said Digonnet. "This is a paradigm change from the past 30 years when global developments were led out of New York, London or Paris."
