Dentsu today announced the formation of a new company, Dentsu Techno Camp, in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.

As part of a joint venture with Vietnamese offshore IT development firm Evolable Asia, Dentsu Techno Camp, which launches on 1 April, will seek to strengthen Dentsu’s digital talent pool. Evolable Asia has a large network of technology engineers and software developers.

In a statement, Dentsu specifically noted the “dwindling number of programmers, system engineers and other developers in the Japanese market”, and said Dentsu Techno Camp will help to address the issue for the agency.

The new company’s focus will be on developing talent in areas including user experience, design and coding. Yuichi Arai, currently director of Dentsu’s integrated digital marketing division, will lead Dentsu Techno Camp as CEO.

“Going forward, the Dentsu Group will strengthen its competitiveness in the digital marketing domain, [and] strive to provide high added-value services and accelerate its growth strategy,” through Dentsu Techno Camp and Evolable Asia, the company said.
