Ocean Park Hong Kong needed to revive its digital presence to reflect its status as Hong Kong’s premier theme park and as the city’s ultimate destination of excitement. The greatest challenge was in consolidating over 1000 pages of content into a fun and easy to browse website that allowed users to intuitively discover exactly what they wanted to see, across all devices.

Planning & Execution


Our strategy focused on building and designing a website based on the needs of Ocean Park’s online audience. The all-new Ocean Park website had to feature a highly immersive design that excited audiences across all platforms and devices. The website would combine incredibly engaging content with an enhanced UI (user interface) to ensure audiences had a rewarding user experience. Our aim was to provide users on desktops, laptops, tablets and mobile devices with a truly satisfying online experience that provided them with all the visitor information they desired.


The website design had to capture the fun and excitement of a typical Ocean Park experience and transfer it to online audiences. Captivating cinemagraphs would be incorporated into the design to create visual stimulation and excitement whilst bright and vivid imagery would be used to convey Ocean Park’s sense of fun and adventure.


On top of conveying the fun experienced at Ocean Park, the website had to be useful for park goers. The website would act as users’ one-stop-shop before, during and after their visits to Ocean Park. As a whole, the website had to ensure that users made the most out of their visit and would return soon for another day of fun.

Effectiveness / Results

The perfect combination of design and functionality saw thousands of new visitors access the website following its launch. Online visitors now enjoy a smooth navigation and greatly enhanced journey on the highly dynamic Ocean Park website. The responsive design of the website led to an unprecedented increase in mobile visitors which played an influential role in the overall increase of visitors. The website significantly contributed to Ocean Park achieving double-digit year-on-year attendance increases for key regional markets including India, Indonesia and the Philippines whilst helping generate interest and sustain the attendance of local visitors.
