Sustainability Journey

Swedish lock manufacturing giants, ASSA ABLOY are the pioneers in door opening solutions.

ASSA ABLOY is the world’s largest lock manufacturer and is headquartered in Sweden. We were approached by the APAC office to design a video that would promote their Sustainability Journey campaign. This initiative highlights their sustainable practices and promotes their products’ energy efficiency. The film was initially shown at an exhibition in China and then used in client meetings and shared online through social media. The target market included architects and property managers, primarily in China and secondarily the rest of Asia.

Planning & Execution

We chose 2D character-driven animation for this project to steer the video away from the commonplace corporate style whilst embracing the company’s forward thinking and originality in the region. We added a strong element of storytelling to a very technically focused topic, making it more digestible and engaging for the audience.

Additionally, with the use of character driven-animation and a strong creative concept, we were able to tell the story without the use of voice-over. This opened up the video to global markets without having to add subtitles which can often lead to lower views.

Effectiveness / Results

The video was extremely well received at the exhibition. It worked seamlessly with ASSA ABLOY’s branding and helped to attract myriad visitors to the client’s booth. Due to its success at the exhibition, the video has now been picked up by head office and is being taken global. It now takes pride of place on their international website and YouTube channel.
