Shinedown are one of the hardest working bands in the world. They truly believe in the word of mouth marketing concept. They tour consistently, do what old fashion bands used to do all the time, build a following through live performances, build brand loyalty and send their fans away inspired to tell their friends.
Their new album, “Amaryllis” finally comes out next week after 4 years of waiting and on the back of the stunning “Sound of Madness” and it looks like being their most successful yet.
Word of mouth remains the strongest form of music marketing. If you friend recommends a band you will listen more intently than if you see an advert telling you to buy it. Shinedown recognize this more than most and with social media marketing have really managed to accentuate this combination with maximum effect.

Before social media and talent shows there was the grind of a country or global tour to communicate your band’s brand, passion and
music. Shinedown are one of the old school, they tour and tour and tour. And they don’t just tour big venues, they tour small, intimate venues and give everything they have as if there was a million people there not just 1,000. They know the fans will have an amazing time and go and tell all their friends.
I have seen them deliver 3 hours of amazing live music in a 200 capacity venue in London and go away mesmerized with their performance and especially of front man Brent Smith who comes across as a mix between The Joker in Batman: The Dark Knight and Freddie Mercury.

They have also exploited social media for all it’s worth with some fantastic and very proactive content and communications on their own site, Twitter and facebook. They put the effort in with some very cool band interactive elements to keep the fires burning of those fans that have probably seen more than one of their adrenalin filled shows and spread yet more positive word of mouth.
Stunning tracks like "Through The Ghost", the hands up the air anthem "Unity", highly energetic "Enemies" and the breath taking "For My Sake" are highlights from the new album in what is an album with no fillers, just pure diamonds shining on!
Just one request Shinedown please can you come to Asia!
