The Japan country managers at Unruly and The Trade Desk are both departing.

Unruly's Haruyo Kagawa is leaving the video adtech company at the end of the week, a company spokesperson has confirmed to Campaign Asia-Pacific, after four-and-a-half years in the role.

Kagawa has an impressive resume that includes roles at DA Consortium, Yahoo Japan, Amazon and Facebook. She built Amazon's advertising business from scratch in Japan between 2008 and 2012, and then joined Facebook to fulfil a similar role, before joining Unruly in 2015. Her career earned her a slot in Campaign Asia-Pacific's Women to Watch in 2016.

Unruly is currently hunting a replacement.

Separately, The Trade Desk's country manager, Tetsuya Shintani, will depart the adtech giant by the end of the year, Troy Yang, the company's SVP of North Asia, has confirmed. Shintani has been in the role for five-and-a-half years.

"He decided to make this change after helping establish The Trade Desk in Japan and leaves with our best wishes for the future," Yang said.

The adtech veteran previously worked for Dentsu for more than a decade, most recently as senior manager in the digital business division, and held sales roles at Video Research Interactive, Engage and Daiwabo Information System.

The DSP will be appointing a replacement "in due course".

It is not yet known where Kagawa or Shintani are going.
