APAC Effie winners announced

BBDO shops dominate, winning the Grand Effie and 14 out of 15 gold awards.

APAC Effie winners announced

Colenso BBDO added to its already substantial award haul for its 'Brewtroleum' campaign on behalf of DB Breweries at the APAC Effie Awards in Singapore tonight. The campaign won the Grand Effie, plus three golds and one silver.

BBDO won Network of the Year honours—and it was not close. Colenso BBDO, Clemenger BBDO, BBDO India, I&S BBDO Japan Group and BBDO & Proximity China were responsible for 14 out of the 15 Gold Effies handed out. The only non-BBDO agency to win a Gold was Publicis Communications India, for Ambuja Cements.

Clemenger BBDO was named Agency of the Year on the back of wins for a variety of campaigns, notably multiple-award winners 'The boys' and 'Meet Graham'.

DB Breweries was named Brand of the Year and Unilever won Marketer of the Year.

Other advertisers striking gold were Frucor Beverages (Australia), Bank of New Zealand, Burger King, Pacific Brands, Mars (Australia and China), Australia's Transport Accident Commission, P&G India and Hiroshima Prefecture.

Australia led in the country tally, followed by India and New Zealand.
