Malaysian senior creatives do the agency shuffle

KUALA LUMPUR - Senior Malaysian creatives Tan Chee Keong (known as CK), ECD for BBDO Malaysia, and Vijay Anand, group ECD for TBWA KL, are moving on to new roles within the market.

Tan, who left Ogilvy & Mather Kuala Lumpur in 2013 to join BBDO as ECD, has rejoined the WPP agency as group ECD. It's understood that Tan is not directly replacing anyone and will be working closely with the office's chief creative officer, Gavin Simpson.

Tan's appointment appears to be part of a restructure in the agency's creative department, which has recently seen the promotions of Doneven Chew to deputy ECD and Choo Chee Wee to CD, we well as the appointment of Valerie Chen as CD for Ogilvy One.

Anand, meanwhile, will be replacing Tan at BBDO. Anand was promoted to the top creative role at TBWA Malaysia last year from his post of creative director at TBWA subsidiary Creative Juice Kuala Lumpur. Like Tan, Anand's new appointment is a return to a former agency. Prior to his role with Creative Juice, he was associate creative director at BBDO KL for three years.

As of press time, TBWA has not been able to comment on Anand's departure or replacement.
