Tribal Shanghai has appointed Herbert Law (pictured) as creative technologist to try to accelerate the digital agency’s vision to harness creativity with technology. Law transferred from Beijing, where he was group account director. During his time there, he served clients such as Volkswagen.
Norihiko Mizuno will be the managing director of Hakuhodo's new Shanghai office, which began operating in May 2015 with establishment capital of ¥50 million (about US$415,000). Hakuhodo established its first China office in Beijing in 1980. Mizuno will manage nine employees and further expand the team.
BBDO has promoted Arthur Tsang to the newly-created position of chief creative officer for the Beijing office. Tsang will work closely with YeatMung Koo, managing director of BBDO Beijing. He first joined the agency as ECD for Southern China and most recently as ECD for Beijing.
Sami Thessman has relocated to New York for Havas Worldwide as executive creative director. He was formerly the ECD for TBWA’s Digital Arts Network based in Hong Kong, leading the Infiniti, Nissan, McDonald's, Adidas, Mastercard, Standard Chartered Bank and AIA accounts.
Verawom has announced a number of important appointments: Handsome Wong as its new creative partner, Kevin Cai as business partner, Jeremy Jiang as strategy partner, Jason Song and Alvin Zhang as creative directors. All will work together with the company's current management (CEO Jack Wang, VP Tiger Tu, ECD Piemeng Tsai, BD Matt Zheng, GAD Ewong Wang, CP Sam Zhu).
Leo Burnett Shanghai has appointed Rocky Hao as head of creative. A copy-based creative, Hao is a local creative talent born in Jiang Xi who started his creative career in Beijing 16 years ago. Prior to Leo Burnett, he has worked at Dentsu, Bates, BBDO, Grey and Ogilvy & Mather.
Diana Pong has been named managing director of Cohn & Wolfe Hong Kong while Winky Moon is appointed director of the agency's technology practice. Pong will report to Angelina Ong, Asia-Pacific president and Moon will report to Pong.
Lily Zhao has been promoted to ECD at German agency Serviceplan based in Beijing. Previously, she was group creative director for a tenure of 10 months. Prior to Serviceplan, she held various creative positions at Lintas, JWT and Publicis, each post lasting between two and seven years.
