Kasemsahasin will serve as senior vice president and general manager. The new office will provide digitally led integrated communications services to clients in the corporate, technology, financial services, consumer and hospitality sectors.

Target clients include both multinational companies operating in Thailand and Thai companies operating locally and internationally. One of its first clients is Philips.

Lynne Anne Davis, president of Asia Pacific at FleishmanHillard, told Campaign Asia-Pacific that more clients in its network are expressing an interest in Thailand, while more Thai companies are also looking to strengthen their brands.

"Philips had a need for integrated, digital corporate support in Thailand, and we are answering this call by opening in Bangkok," she said. "Looking ahead, we feel communications growth areas will include corporate reputation, financial services, healthcare and technology."

The agency termed Kasemsahasin a "seasoned" public relations consultant with deep local-market knowledge and regional experience. She has worked in the financial and corporate-communications sectors for multinational corporations, Thai blue-chip companies and government organisations.

She has also supported a number of Thailand’s large-market-cap IPOs and oversaw communications for the launch of Thailand’s first infrastructure fund.

Dave Senay, president and CEO of FleishmanHillard, noted that Thailand is an important hub for international trade and a gateway to the ASEAN economic community.

“The powerful combination of digital and integrated communications solutions will help companies build corporate reputation and engage consumers via the latest online and offline media,” he added.

Prior to the launch, FleishmanHillard had partnered with Spark Communications for the last 10 years to operate in Thailand. The Bangkok launch is FleishmanHillard’s fifth office in Southeast Asia, after Singapore, Malaysia, The Philippines and Indonesia.
