SINGAPORE - Wall’s ice cream has launched 'Share Happy' campaign in Singapore to encourage people to share small moments of happiness with their family and friends.
Gurmit Singh tries out the smile-activated vending machine
The Share Happy campaign in Singapore borrows from a consumer poll which reveals the happiest places in Singapore.
At the campaign's launch location at East Coast Park, 'smile-activated' ice-cream vending machines were unveiled.
The machines were first used at the Rock in Rio festival in Lisbon, Portugal in May this year; Singapore is only the second country to host such vending machines.
Each of the vending machines is fitted with facial recognition technology called 'smile-o-meter' to track which measures the smile and ascertains if the smile is 'happy enough' before dispensing an ice-cream of choice.
A picture of the smiling face is taken and with their permission, uploaded onto the Share Happy Facebook fan page.
Consumers can also share their experiences online and get a chance to star in Wall's commercial with local celebrity Gurmit Singh.
Alongside Singh, Wall's has recruited local bloggers Joshua Barker Tan and Dawn Wong as campaign ambassadors.
The three will be encouraging Singaporeans to join the campaign to spread smiles and happiness, and have created their own videos showing spontaneous moments in Singapore.
